Love This.

For those of you who, like me, were not at SCBWI's Winter Conference this past weekend, you must go check out the recap of Sara Zarr's keynote at Notes From the Slushpile. (Oh, and don't feel too bad for me. We had 70 degree weather on Saturday, and I pretty much spent the full day inhaling sunshine through my pores.)

I need to tattoo this quote from Sara's speech on my noggin:
The time between when you are no longer a beginner but you are not yet in the business is the hardest and no one can tell you how long this phase will last.

Oh, and this one:
Most of us have to stop half of what we are doing and start doing the other half well.

  1. Wow, thanks for the link. That was an incredible speech with a ridiculous amount of wise words. No wonder she got a standing ovation for that speech! :)

  2. We had a really warm weekend too! But that all changes tomorrow... and Wednesday it won't get out of the 30's... very unusual for Houston. I have my fingers crossed for this snow thing they're teasing me about on Friday. :)
