Whoops! Blogfest

I wasn't going to participate in the Whoops! Blogfest hosted over at Laurel's Leaves due to lack of material, but I can't help myself.

Here's a snippet from a picture book I wrote a year ago about a tooth fairy on her first day of school who has a different way of seeing things:

In Math class, things went from bad to dreadful.  Mrs. Ticklewing started a lecture on tooth exchange rates.  Before long, Francine had drifted into a dream world.
Mrs. Ticklewing rapped her wand on the podium and cried, “Francine, please pay attention!  Do you have anything you’d like to add to our discussion on incisor trading?”
“Do we have to leave money for teeth?” Francine asked.
Mrs. Ticklewing nearly fainted.

  4. This is very cute. And very real. Bad things happen in math class. But at least this was funny. :)

  10. That IS adorable. I could see it as a blurb in the NYTimes just as well as a picture book. Witty.
